Ethics of Immersion

Entering the forest with mutual humility

We do not offer tourist shows. Our private-only expeditions invite you to step into the Rereiket jungle as a respectful guest, living alongside the Mentawai family on their terms.

Life inside the family uma

We sleep on hand-hewn wooden floors under mosquito nets, sharing the hearth and home of our hosts. There are no modern showers, no cellular signals, and no scripted performances.

Every meal is foraged from the surrounding Rereiket forest, prepared over open wood fires. This raw simplicity is not a hardship—it is the very rhythm that connects us to the land.

The Forest Code

How we walk together

Mutual Humility

Ask Before Capturing

Leave Valuables Behind

We enter as guests, not consumers. We adapt to the family's daily rhythm rather than imposing external timetables or expectations.

Always ask before taking photos. A camera should only be raised after a genuine connection has been made and consent is clear.

Disconnect fully. Leave expensive jewelry, excessive tech, and urban distractions at home. Be fully present in the uma.

Live the forest rhythm
